Samui, Phangan and Tao ferries: piers and connections

Samui has several ferry terminals. Choose the operator and exact pier for each leg, then allow time for the road transfer and check-in.

Choose the island and the exact pier

Pier decisions before booking
Place or routeWhat to check
SamuiLomprayah offers routes using Pralarn, Nathon or Bang Rak; the terminal depends on the selected service.
PhanganConfirm the named arrival pier and the transfer to your accommodation; do not book on the island name alone.
TaoCheck Mae Haad and the final local transfer on the selected itinerary.

Before paying and again before departure

  1. Search your travel date with the carrier and confirm both pier names.
  2. Read that sailing’s check-in deadline, luggage rules, transfer inclusions and cancellation terms.
  3. Allow time between separately booked legs; a timetable is not a protected connection.
  4. Check the marine forecast and the carrier’s operating notice again before leaving for the pier.

Leave a buffer between a flight, road transfer and sailing. If boats are suspended, stay where you are safely accommodated and rebook after the operator confirms service. There is no road-only substitute between these islands.

See island-transfer booking and cancellation guidance for the shared checklist.

Include the final transfer

For a vehicle crossing, check the carrier’s specific vehicle-ferry route and booking rules. Passenger catamarans and vehicle ferries serve different needs. An arrival at Nathon, Pralarn, Bang Rak or Lipa Noi does not put you at the same place on Samui.
