Best time to visit Thailand

For many visitors, November through February is the easiest first trip window: cooler air, less rain in much of the country, and better walking weather. March and April can be hot. Rainy season can still be excellent if you choose the right region and build flexible days.

How many places should you visit?

For a first 10 day trip, choose Bangkok plus one strong contrast: Chiang Mai for food and hills, or a southern coast for islands and beaches. More stops often means more transit and less Thailand.

Simple etiquette that matters

Dress modestly at temples and remove shoes where signs or context ask for it.
Keep your voice low in sacred spaces and on public transit.
Use polite greetings and gratitude. A little care goes a long way.
Do not treat markets, monks, workers, or neighborhoods like props.
