Visiting the Grand Palace
Check the Palace calendar for your date, then read its admission and dress rules. Tourists and mourners may use different entrances. Follow the signs for your visit; a tourist ticket does not give access to a ceremony.
Dress and conduct
At the Palace, follow its dress rules: cover your shoulders and wear suitable lower-body clothing. Around ceremonies elsewhere, dress and behave respectfully. Those choices are not a universal dress law. Follow staff directions about photos, queues and closed areas.
Transport and access before 15 December
Recheck official notices in early December and immediately before visiting. No detailed December road-closure map or additional ceremony holiday is established by the sources linked here. Leave flexibility for Old City journeys and select another part of Bangkok if access is restricted. Do not infer that the ceremony closes the whole city.
