Bangkok taxi fares

A metered fare combines distance and slow-traffic time. Airport charges, tolls and baggage can add to it. An app quote or EV VIP fare can use different terms.

Estimate the trip with DLT

Use the Department of Land Transport’s fare estimator for distance and slow-traffic time. Its displayed Bangkok example starts at 35 baht and uses 3 baht per minute below 6 km/h. The dated vehicle-category schedule below has a separate 40-baht starting category; confirm which vehicle and fare method you are using.

For example, ten minutes charged at 3 baht per minute adds 30 baht. That is one component, not a complete journey quote. Add applicable airport charges and tolls separately, and check app or pre-agreed service terms before comparing prices.

If the actual charge needs a complaint, save the plate, time and receipt and use the taxi complaint steps.

When this schedule applies

The table is a dated reference for the covered Bangkok-registered taxi category. Confirm the vehicle, pickup arrangement and current rules before treating it as your fare. Meter certification and legal scope matter; the driver does not simply choose the regulated rates.

For airport pickup details, use Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueang. Save the plate and receipt if you need to question a charge.
